Abstract
SolarFormer++ extends solar PV profiling with a dual approach for satellite and UAV imagery. The method segments and maps solar panels from satellite imagery while also localizing obstructions on solar panel surfaces for degradation mitigation.
The work targets practical PV management problems, including geographic profiling, panel-size estimation, and real-time assessment of obstructions such as leaves, branches, dust, and bird droppings.
